40x super telephoto EFP lens that shoots up to 1120mm; powerful virtual footage production capabilities

Boasting up to 40x magnification, this 2/3-inch HD TV Electric Field Production (EFP) lens for broadcasting use is capable of shooting from a wide-angle 14mm focal length up to a super telephoto 560mm, doubled to 1120mm with its built-in 2x extender. With a lens construction that utilizes Hi-UD glass and fluorite lens elements, it provides high image quality over the entire zoom range. Zooming speed is 20% faster than its predecessor due to the new Advanced Digital Drive Unit, which features an absolute value encoder that is capable of highly accurate position detection and output through 16-bit processing, making it possible to produce highly accurate virtual footage. A new IS control engine further improves image stabilizer performance. This is one lens that is capable of handling a large variety of scenes, telephoto or otherwise, that require versatility in expression, be it relay broadcasts of sports or concerts, or footage of nature.

Long portable affordable lens

The new KJ20x8.2B KRSD is a portable 2/3” HD Standard lens specifically designed to support low-cost image acquisition systems for a wide range of applications and users such as wedding and corporate videos, education films and documentaries.

At 8.2-164mm, the new KJ20x8.2B KRSD, covers a generous range of focal lengths. Along with the KJ20x8.2B IRSD, they are Canon’s widest lenses in the affordable 20x zoom class. MOD is 0.9M and the KJ20x8.2B KRSD comes equipped with a macro to allow closer subjects up to 10mm from the front of the lens. It also has strong rugged build qualities.

Outstanding Optical performance

The servomotor has a noise-suppressing construction to ensure there is no corresponding increase in noise. The newly developed advanced drive unit includes an interface function for chromatic aberration compensation. The Memo switch on the drive unit, which sets specific zoom positions for the Shuttle Shot function, has been changed to a push switch. The memo switch enables more reliable Shuttle Shot setup in the field where more consistent functioning of the controls is required.

Newly Developed Advanced Drive Unit

Together, these technologies and materials have produced an outstanding combination of cost-effectiveness and performance in the KJ20x8.2B KRSD. The lens has minimised axial, and lateral chromatic aberrations, which can be reduced further with �the chromatic aberration compensation function’ that is built-in to the Drive unit. Croma aberrations and geometric distortion are well controlled. The new optical materials and multi-layer optical coatings used in the lens effectively lessen the ghosting. The KJ20x8.2B KRSD also has a high MTF (modulation transfer function) at the picture centre that is well controlled right out to the picture extremities. The KJ20x8.2B KRSD ’s optical performance is well-balanced for both near and distant subjects, surpasses previously available lenses in this price range.

Advanced optical technology and extensive use of fluorite and UD glass to minimize optical aberrations, ghosting and flare and provide 4K HDR optical quality throughout the zoom range.

122x zoom (8.2-1000 mm) plus 2x multiplier

Equipped with 122x zoom, the lens can be used in a wide variety of scenarios. In addition, the integrated 2x multiplier allows an even greater zoom range, up to an incredible focal length of 2000mm.

FDJ-S31 / 41 is designed for focus control for Canon Auto Focus UHD and HD Box lenses. It features a number of AF control options that allow the user to easily switch between AF mode and manual focus, as well as tuning settings such as AF frame size and focusing speed. The FDJ-S31 / 41 also offers three focus modes: FAR, CLOSE and STANDARD mode which adjusts the focus reaction curve according to the control.
