Powerful and compact to be taken anywhere

A guide number 43 (m, ISO100) offers enough power for most situations.

Speedlite 430EX III-RT weighs just 295g and is only 113.8mm long, so you can always carry it with you in your bag.

Powered by popular AA batteries, the device charges in just 3.2 seconds after a full-power flash.

Simple controls and intuitive interface

The Speedlite 430EX III-RT's controls mirror those of many EOS cameras. Quick commands allow you to access the main functions and a control wheel allows you to make quick adjustments. A switch lock feature prevents accidental changes to settings. An LCD display quickly shows shooting information, as well as being illuminated for use in low-light situations.

Remote mode to get the results you want

Speedlite 430EX III-RT flashes can also be positioned away from the camera to simulate light from different directions.

Using radio frequency activation, Speedlite 430EX III-RT units can be controlled from a distance of up to 30m, without requiring a direct field of view. This means that it is possible to arrange the units in multiple positions, to create multiple moods and effects.

The Speedlite 430EX III-RT can also be controlled remotely via optical activation, for instant adaptation with your existing flash setup. Triggering is possible from a distance of 10m using the optional ST-E2 Speedlite Transmitter or the built-in Speedlite Transmitter available in some EOS cameras.

Use several flashes together in groups and control the power of each group separately. Up to five groups can be created, with up to 15 flashes in each group.

Stunning portraits using reflected light

A swiveling flash head lets you bounce light off large surfaces, such as walls and ceilings, to create a soft, shadow-free light that's perfect for portraits.

You can use a built-in reflector panel to create "points of light" in the subject's eyes to accentuate their expressiveness.

Use the special bounce adapter supplied to obtain an even more subdued light. A color filter is also provided, which increases the color temperature of the light emitted by the flash to better match the ambient light indoors.

Speedlite 430EX III-RT can zoom the emitted light according to the angle of view of the lens in use.

It integrates with other Speedlite drives as part of the EOS family

Use Speedlite 430EX III-RT with other flashes, such as Speedlite 600EX-RT, within a multiple flash configuration.

Control the Speedlite 430EX III-RT without being attached directly to the camera via a flash trigger, such as the ST-E3-RT, or with the EOS camera's built-in Speedlite transmitter.

Double wireless activation of the flash

Speedlite 430EX III-RT can be activated as an external device via radio frequency or optical activation, providing photographers with remarkable versatility. When using radio frequency triggering, flashes can be positioned up to 30m away from the camera, without requiring a direct field of view. This means they can be placed in many more positions, such as outside a room to emit light through a window.

Optical activation, on the other hand, allows EOS cameras to use an integrated Speedlite transmitter (e.g. EOS 760D, EOS 70D and EOS 7D Mark II) to activate the Speedlite 430EX III-RT from a distance of up to 10m, without the need for additional equipment.
