1.0-type CMOS sensor
Large CMOS sensor with high sensitivity and low noise level for spectacular Bokeh effects. With Full HD image quality enhanced by HD oversampling, the camera allows you to capture a wide dynamic range thanks to Canon Log 3 and Wide DR mode.
High quality 4K lens with 15x zoom
The 4K 15x optical zoom with an extremely wide 25.5mm aperture optimizes picture quality with Super UD lens elements to minimize chromatic aberrations. There is an advanced 5-axis image stabilization system for shooting on the go or handheld photography.
Fast and precise Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology
The XA55 / XA50 boasts Dual Pixel CMOS AF technology for fast and accurate autofocus in approximately 80% of the sensor (vertically and horizontally). Face-detection AF and touch technology enable smooth focus control for intuitive operation. The Dual Pixel Focus guide offers a graphical interface to facilitate the use of manual focus.
Recording in XF-AVC and MP4 format with saving on SD cards
The XA55 / XA50 model supports multiple recording formats, including XF-AVC and MP4. It allows you to shoot in 4K UHD in XF-AVC format from 160 Mbps to 25P and in Full HD from 45 Mbps to 50P / 50i / 25P. It also offers the ability to record in 4K in MP4 format from 150 Mbps to 25P and in Full HD from 35 Mbps to 50P / 25P. Slow and fast motion recording is available in 4K / Full HD mode up to 1200x.
Compact and lightweight with professional features
Powerful features include infrared mode for recording video in low or no ambient light, simultaneous backup and relay recording with dual SD card slots. Other features include 3G-SDI (XA55 model only), professional audio support with dual XLR terminals, 4-channel linear PCM audio and low power consumption for extended battery life.
